We spent the week in San Jose last week, while my husband was teaching in one of the Bible courses going on there. In the middle of the week was Costa Rican Independence day and my friends, Gaby and Karen, convinced me to go downtown with them to watch the parades. I was thinking it was going to be a disaster! Taking the boys on the bus, fighting the crowds, trying to hold onto all the little hands... you can imagine! But, I thought, why not? Let's go for it!

We stopped in Plaza de la Cultura to feed pigeons - this is our friend Renate who was brave enough to come with us as well!
